Nitrous is very effective. It all depends what you're into and what you like, if you're into having fun with your car at the strip, it can be a great way to go. If you like having your power all the time on the street, you can put your money elsewhere. But really, for what a kit costs, it's an excellent bang for your back, no pun intended.

I am thinking of going with a 100-150 shot on mine for kicks. Be sure you get someone that knows the 05's to do it, and you might want to check on upgrading some of the driveline before you do this, Ive heard that it wont hurt the engine if you use it right, but it will hurt the driveline...
Oh, and if you plan to do the dry shot in the intake, it better be an aftermarket metal intake, because nitrous backfire will shred a rubber or plastic one...

a tune is what you need to make it safe for the motor. as for a nitrous backfire, you just have to be careful, not to let the nitrous puddle in the intake. make sure the bottle is always off when the car isnt running. make sure the spray is going once the air gets moving.

a dry kit is a good starter kit for beginners but wet is the way to go imo. youll be fine with the stock intake as long as your not stupid with the nitrous

i dont like nitrous, yes its a good increase in power but not worth the potental for major damage. like i said in another post i saw a nitrous explosion 2 weeks ago (guy said 150 shot) it blew the intake off the motor and melted everything under his hood. who knows what else he damaged internally.

Then the system wasn't set up properly, in all likelihood.

I just had the Eldebrock "dry" system thats made specifically for my 05 gt put on. I was very nervous and ify about it at first but found out that aslong as I dont get greedy at the track my car should be okay. I plan to do a max 100 shot but most likely just a 75 shot. I had all these safety mechanisms installed with it as well. I also have two mechanic friends with it on there ZO6 and 06'GT and they love it with no complaints.
