Made the first mod

Well we ( me and my dad ) made our first mod which was a cold air kit. Took us like 2 to 2 and a 1/2 hours, which seems ok because the guy that does over 1500 suggested it took im 30 or less so I figured we would quadropple that so... Im not ocmplaining. Any ways we felt a huge boost as far as get up and go is concerned. The needle on the speedometer climbs a little faster, and the cold air intake makes the best fucking sound ever and it's almost unexplainable.

Just like I expected it was a tease and would want us comming back for more, so next were getting a tuner and maybe an ecu chip at the same time, then pullies then gears or gears then pullies which ever comes first in the plan we made. We met the mustang tech who knew so much and had so much passion for a pony he never slipped 1 detail. We came up with a plan to spread things out and not just jump into it. But the last mod will be a supercharger, preferably paxton and thats about it. All in all its a great addition and was a good Father Son project.

Congrats for having a Modded Mustang! I remember the first mod I did, I think I removed an air silencer or something. I remember going down the road hoping the engine didn't lock up or whatever because I botched the something up. Hehe, ahh those were the good old days.

I recomend the gears first (3.73), full exuast second (LT headers, mid pipe & cat back) and then strait to the supercharger. Don't waste your money on underdrive pulleys cause you're just going to have to go back to stock when you put the blower on. The blower is going to do more for you than any of the little things that just eat away at your power adder fund and don't give much in the way of performance.

Also, on the blower, I'd pick a Vortech or Procharger unit if you're on a budget, and since it sounds like it's a street car, a KB 1.7 is you're not worried about money. Do a little more searching before picking your blower.

There was those odd first few moments were you say to yourself " is it working, is that it?"... but once broken in it was easily felt. We had the little extra push that was well worth the time and money. But I have to admit I just love the sound this thing makes. It sounds like a classic muscle car. From the time the engine climes when we accelerate theres this beastly sounds, then followed by the wizzing of the intake. Ahh I love life!

nice first mod... that was also one of my first mods to go on after the exhaust. I would say skip the U/D's and go with gears. what brand cold air was it?

Wow, so many people saying no go on the U/D..... I got a huge kick in the ass from them. I put on SLP LM'1 catback and U/D pulleys and went from 207 at the rear wheels to 226. So i say... go for them. Unless you do want a S/C.

My first mod............Flowmaster AMerican THunder, Screaming demon coil packs and 10mm live wires.... GOsh that was fun.

That's why I said to skip them...he said they planned on a supercharger. Nothing is going to pick it up like a blower will. Hell, if I had it to do over again, I would have done a blower first with a 75mm TB and power pipe, then gears, exaust and suspension. That's just my own personal hind sight.

A tune should defineitely be your next mod. Go to Brent and brenspeed or Doug at Bama chips. You won't believe the difference.

The next best bang for the buck in terms of performance would be Under drive pulleys. They're fairly simple to install and give you a nice increase in performance.

If you get a tuner, you won't need a chip. A tuner is much better then a chip anyway.
