Catted H vs. Catted X

I have a bone stock 06' GT, and I want to start making Mods. When it comes to price, I have to be a little frugal, and I want to stay street and emissions legal. Is it woth the price tag to get a Cated X over my Stock H. Of course I'd like an increase in power, but would it be significant enough to be worth the price tag. I have no plans to add a S/C, but I am going to get 4.10 gears, CAI, UD pulleys, at least axle back Exhaust, adn a tune or custom chip. In the distant future I'm thinking of adding a new cam, CMD plates, and long tube headers.

As far as the ax back exhaust, I like the new American Thunder Flowmasters (277.99 @ jegs.com). As far as my taste in sound, I love this clip @ Corsaperformance (see link). If I can Afford the Corsa's after the other mods I'd go this way (599.95). Unless of course I could get the same sound for less, without sacrificing too much in quality.

Stay with your stock midpipe, the money will be better spent if you want to stay emmissions legal.

I'm not a big fan of the x on 05+. On the 04- they sound great, but not with the 3 valves. JMO

I have the Mac ceramic longtubes, Bassani gutted cat X, and Flowmaster Super 40s.
The X will be louder. It sounds amazing when I am WOT, and anywhere in between. With gutting the cats it gets raspy at startup, but after that, and warmup, its GREAT.
The H is designed to be a deeper tone, but the X is higher flowing and louder. Its all to what your ear likes. The only thing I might switch would be the Flows to Corsa's...but I have 3" all the way, so non of the axlebacks will be compatible without putting in a reducer-Not Doing That!
just get on YouTube.com, and listen to different combinations over and over until you hear one you like. Just search for mac axlebacks, bassani axlebacks, SLP, X pipe, etc...axlebacks will bring up 05s, but you have to specify 05+ or 2006 2007 etc, for the newer ones.

Hope this helps you out.

By the way...I havent ever been tested for emissions in Texas...they might do it in Houston...but IDK. Just go with the Off-Road setup, will give you a few more horses, and different sound.
