Security for my new ride

Now that I have my new stang I'd like to make sure it stays mine. I've had a car stolen before so I'm a little on the paranoid side when it comes to that. I'd like to add an alarm so do any of you have alarms on an 05+ stang? I had a bad experience once with a Crimestoper alarm on a Ford Ranger that I had so I'm wondering if there is a particular brand that works well with these cars or should I just listen to the guy at the local shop. Thanks for the help.

sorry, accidentally hit submit to soon.

Lojack is great because u can get a whatever alarm and know that if ur car is stolen u can call someone and whoever was stupid enough to steal ur new car will get caught pretty quick... i always picture the prep being pulled over and wondering how they pinpointed him lol.

lojack sucks!
all it does is help u find ur car once they r through with it...it can easily be ripped out...

i think you should go with 1 of those 1 mile range viper systems with the pager... also pay some1 good to do it so when it is triggered the car is shutdown and cant be moved..multiple ways of doing that decide on which route u want, met some1 that had it like that yesterday and i will be doing the same after i get my gears..

Lojack is activated as soon as you call. i can b 1 day, 1 hour or 10 mins. its all on you.

Lojack is installed in a secert place (i found mine) trust me, its not easy to find but it did look like all u need to disconnect is basic tools.

LoJack dosnt suck haha....i got the early warning system which is a new system out by them. You get a key chain that you put on your key ring and as soon as your car moves without the keychain in it, the keychain vibrates and flashes and LoJack calls 5 number, emails 5 emails, txts 5 numbers

+1 i have the same system.

I know it doesnt suck i just thought i would try the nice approach...

When i bought my car they offered me it and since i already knew alot of ppl felt really safe with it i got it and was actually able to put the cost into my contract so the cost was put into my monthly payment...

I have the new Viper 7900 alarm/remote start installed on mine. The only problem with getting aftermarket alarms installed on these new stangs is that all of the wiring and electricals are so hard to work with. I had an installer friend of mine that does alarms all the time do mine and it took him 36 hours to do it.

I did get almost every sensor know to man put in the car so it did take a little longer than normal but it is still a very hard car to work on. Make sure you find someone that has previous experience with these cars because they will need it.

Thanks for all the input. I went to the local shop yesterday and they have me looking at a Viper system. I think I'm just going with the base system. I don't want something with alot of bells and whistles and I don't want a bunch of holes drilled in the car to install it. The base system protects the doors, trunk and hood if opened and has a shock sensor thats adjustable so it can be set high enough not to go off when some hippie in a rice burner with a $5,000 exhaust parks next to it and backfires but still works if a window gets broke. I never leave my windows down so I'm not woried about the proximity sensors.

I have all of those so called bells and whistles and there were only 2 holes drilled in my plastic interior panels. They are both for blue LED's that flash when the system is armed to deter any would be thief. Everything else was expertly hidden and professionally wired.
