Any good tips on finding an exhaust leak?

Hello all. I just finished installing a pypes offroad xpipe and there is a major leak somewhere. I was just looking for some tips on how to pinpoint where it is and also maybe how to seal it up? thanks

Immerse your entire car in water, and look to see where the bubbles are coming from...

J/k! Your best bet is to get it on a lift or at least jack stands. I've heard several different ways of looking for exhaust leaks. Anywhere from covering your exhaust in soapy water and looking for bubbles, to taking a piece of aluminum foil, and wrapping it around various spots until you find the leak. Your best bet may just be to take it to a local muffler shop, they shouldn't charge you much to look it over and tighten things up.

I say put it on a lift if possible. the 05+ cars are super easy to install x/h pipes and should be very easy to see a leak.

Get the car in the air. If you use a jack, make sure you put jack stands under the car before you climb under it.
Start the car before climbing under it. Then have a friend put a rag gently over each tailpipe. You don't need to be trying to close the hole off completely, just blocking it off a little will help you find the leak, especially if it's severe. Check one side at a time. Chances are you may find the leak before even using the rag.
Resist the urge to stick a banana in your tailpipe like you're Eddie Murphy. lol
