UD Pulleys Rob Charging System?

One of my mustang buddies put UD pulleys in his 93' 302, and he found that the new pulleys robbed his charging system to the point that he needed frequent jumps and had trouble at idle. Is this a common problem with the 4.6's as well?

it's not as bad with us 4.6 guys but it does mess with your charging system.

the newer charging systems have a better Voltage regulator and the Generator (alternator) still generates about 12.8 volts at idle. my Pioneer AVIC-D1 has a Vehicle dynamics screen that monitors live the system voltage, and it never drops below 13.1 when I had the stock pulleys on it was 13.2 so no big deal most of the time I am moving and the charging will be between 13.5 -13.8. as long as it does not go over 14volts there is no strain on the system.

I don't know how well this works on a 93' but they may want to look into it could help him with always having to get jumps.

It sounds to me that you guys ate saying that the boost in power is worth it, and the effects on the charging system is not noticible... Works for me. I will pass that link on to my buddy Skes, thanks.
