4.10 and 3.73 Fuel economy

My stang came with the 3.31 limited slip rearend. I love the fuel economy it produces, 26 mpg average highway. So that has been making me a little tentative to switch to lower gears. What kinda highway mileage could I expect from 3.73's or even 4.10's

you only drop on the highway. but if you are worried about the mileage you should not Mod, a Saleen Supercharger is the only mod that will gain you HP and gas mileage. there are some reports of guy getting 25-26 mpg with a SC.

I have 4.10 and I run at 80MPH @ 2950 RPM and my milage is average 23 MPG

Speaking of mpg. Has anyone else on here gotten freakishly high mileage on the highway? I drove from San Francisco to an hour north of Sacramento, and back on half a tank of gas. I've driven for hours on road trips and still had enough left for an hour of commute time.

Is the cruise control magic???

I also understand that with the higher gears you get back some of what you lose on the highyway during city driving... Less effort on the engines part.

well that makes sense as long as you keep your foot out of it and shift up in the high gears faster.
