Re: 2 mods - K&N cold air intake and short shifter. Wha
i used eibach pro kit springs and love them. i also used BMR for the LCA's, adjustable panhard par, panhard bar support. i also put on some tokico d-specs. they are adjustable at the turn of the little tool they send with them. i am very happy with this set up and would do it again. now i just need to add the swaybars, upper control arm, and change out the front end to a tubular k-memeber and A arms. if you want to lower it and are trying to stay cheap at first go with the springs of choice and an adjustable panhard bar. you'll need the panhard because your rearend won't be centered after you lower it. you'll be okay with the rest of the stock parts till you can get upgrades. the only other thing you'll need is an alignment. if you will be keeping your car for a long time get a lifetime alignment from firestone. it's more costly the first time, but you will never pay for another alignment on that car again. that and firestones are all over the country if you feel you need a lower profile tire i wouldn't get them very much shorter at all. it for one won't look right and you more than likely won't be happy because of this. to answer the question though.....Yes you can get lower profile tires |

lowering my ride is not as importnat to me as handling. I know tires help and springs. my budget is around 1500.00.

you'll need the lower ride to get the handling you are looking for. with just the 1500 for now i would keep your stock wheels and tires till you can replace them.
i would suggest: springs, tokico d-spec shocks/struts, panhard bar, lower and upper control arms (only one upper), depending on how much is left replace the swaybars also. tires are very important also, but you'll want to get wider wheels first in my opinion. |

Lowering or suspension package
Is there a big difference between changing the struts and shocks or just putting new springs on? I am looking at these two packages.
http://www.lmperformance.com/7785/73.html Or http://www.lmperformance.com/15575/73.html Will I notice a large difference in handling?

the second one is the same one i suggested only from a different site. yes there is a hugh difference between the factory shocks/struts and the tokico's. you could wait to replace the shocks/struts, but if you don't have to i wouldn't. if you do wait you will just have to do all the labor for the front all over again to put them on. the actual difference can be a little to a lot depending on how stiff or soft you make them. your factory pieces will wear out much much faster when you drop the car. how long they will last i don't know since i did it all at once.

BMR
I went with the BMR handling package 1 and strut tower brace.
I also ordered a Ford racing muffler. Once my wife finds out she is going to kill me. It cost me 2grand.

you'll love it after it is all on. don't forget to get an alignment. i suggest if you plan to keep the car for a long time go to firestone and get a lifetime done for around $140.
if you do the work yourself you can always tell her how much money you will save by not paying someone else to do it for you. therefore you spent that extra money on a few extra parts |
