STI

I just got on my slp long tube set up last week and my first true test came last night when i raced a brand new sti. it looked pretty stock. We did a couple of runs and i couldnt shake him i only got him by nose if that evertime before we hit traffic. ive beat wrxs and older stis by at least a car length but i have never raced an 07. should i be happy with this?

well the sti is putting out as much power as you are stock for stock with less weight. I dont know how modded u or the sti is but I would be happy especially if u raced from a dig.

I actually just traded my WRX (non STI) for a 2005 GT a week ago. Even though I did not have an STI I can vouch that they are pretty quick little cars. The GT has much better looks by far.

The only problem I had was in the Tranny. The thrower bearing for 5th gear was changed at 30k under warranty. I put 100k and right when I got rid of it 4th gear was acting up. The STI is known to have strut problems and need to be changed rather quickly. It was a fun car but I just got sick of turbo lag and that was the thing to make me go back to a V8.

I traded my 03 wrx in, about 3 months ago, i miss the top end power of the big turbo i had on there, but i had nothing but problems with the AFR and the tunning. so far i am happier w/my 07 GT. I had about 450 hp to the flwheel in the wrx.

The subaru is a nightmare to upgrade. Yes it has a lot of power but it is totaly different than the mustang. It is like driving a 2 stroke dirt bike need to keep it spooled up. The stang is nice as the power is there when ever you want it.

I like the stang a lot better than my WRX plus you get more looks.

My neighbor just bought a 07 STI he took me for a ride today. It ran pretty good, the all wheel drive made it hook real hard not much wheel spin. Then I took him for a ride in the GT and showed him how easy it was to spin the tires......I think I like my car a lot better....I know I like my car a lot better.....JM
