I'd get some of that stuff you sprinkle on your carpet in your house before you vacuum and dump some on the carpet in your car. leave it for 15 minutes, then vacuum it up. That should take care of it. I think arm and hammer makes it.

Personally, I would go rent a steam cleaner and get a real serious deep cleaning. Your not fighting the smell off the top of the carpet, it's deep down in the padding. Cover up with a surface cleaning is not going to rid you of that nasty azz stench, and humid days are going to easily bring the smell back. The musty smell is not a surface problem.

I'd almost recommend letting someone professionally do it, but you can knock it out yourself.

I think I'm going with the steam cleanning method. I've got a brother-in-law that works for Stanley Steamers. I'll see what he can do with it. Otherwise the dealership said it would be about 650 bucks to for new carpet installed.

I was going the cheaper way out, but if you got the hook up for the steam cleaner, then go for it

Normally I would go the more cost effective route but when it comes to my car, cheap is not in my vocabulary. Althought the baking soda idea will cut some of the smell. I'm just not sure about pouring white powder all over my black carpet. I can see it now. The 1st time I get pulled over for speeding or something and get my car cleaned out by the cops for having what looks like drugs all over my car.
