Saleen SC

Maybe it is just my jaded view of the world but when I am trying to purchase a product I expect the manufacturer of that product to be able to answer questions about it. For over a month now I have been trying to get Saleen to provide me a written copy of their warranty for their SC. No one in the organization seems to be able to provide it or even return phone calls. I am trying to buy their product, imagine if I had a service concern with it. I guess I will become a Wipple or Kenne Bell customer. Just venting!

try a saleen dealer, cause they are the one's that would carry the warranty information as well. cause they have to install the blowers in order for them to be warrantied

saleen SC

Technicaly I was contacting a Saleen dealer. Saleen has their own shop in Irvine, CA who will do SC installs and supposedly provide a 3 yr/36,000 mile warranty if you do it there. Sounds good but nothing in writing. However, Maverick, your point is well taken and I will try a "dealer" just to see what I can get.

any reason you went with the saleen?

i'd rather find a dealer that would keep the factory warranty with the frpp whipple sc. really i'd go with the kb and just loose the warranty.

saleen SC

Wipple @ KB have a 12m warranty on their product only. If you install either it invalidates the Ford warranty per my local dealers. If you look at FRPP web it also states that installation of the Wipple invalidates the Ford warranty. Saleen claims that if you install their SC at one of two Saleen locations, Irvine, CA or Troy,MI they will provide a 36m/36,000 mile warranty and it somehow works in conjunction with the Ford warranty. If you have it installed at an authorized Saleen dealership it is a 12m/12,000 mile warranty.

well regardless of what the FRPP states, sometimes you CAN get a dealer that will warranty a part that is made by ford racing. my dealer, even though they are not a ford racing dealer, I know the GM there and Ive got it in writing from him that I am covered with my whipple kit if anything goes wrong with the vehicle.

you just gotta do some research and find a good dealer that will cover you, they're out there, just gotta find them.

Maverick, you have a sweet deal going. Non of the dealers here will budge on the issue. If it is after market they just will not honor the warranty FFRP or not.

Have you thought of Roush? They have a 3yr / 36k waranty that covers everything. They send you all kinds of documentation and my experience with them so far has been awsome. All the ford dealers I've dealt with speak very highly of them, even my local dealer who is not a Roush dealer. Within 2 weeks of purchasing my Roush I got two phone calls from them directly, one to thank me for my purchase and the other to ask me to bring it back to the dealer to have a melichous code removed that was causing check engine lights to come on ( never happend to mine but I took it in anyway ). From what I hear the treatment is just as good if you already have a car and purchase the s/c from them. You probably just have to have an authorized dealer do the work.
