fail safe problem!

hey guys... so i was just drivin around yesterday and stomp on it in first and the whole car like shuts down and goes into fail safe... i reset the tune with my sct and it runs fine then does it again today... im wondering if its possible that there was something wrong with the fuel i had just put in it prior to this happening my mods are

intake
cmcv deletes
long tubes
high flows
and other misc parts

i set the tune for 93 octane, the deletes, the intake... it ran fine for 3 or 4 days after installin the headers and deletes... any ideas? could it be just bad gas?

thanks a lot
kris

If it is only happening when you floor it, you are probably hitting the rev limiter, Not Good. If it is happening while just driving, I am not sure. Your tune could be bad and running the car too lean. Do you have your TCS on, that will make it act funny if you stomp it with it on. Turn it off and try again. I know I did the same thing!!!! I am no where an authority on the subject, but you should be able to get some good advice on this board.

If your ford dealer is cool, like mine is, they will check it out, and keep it under warranty, which saves you the $75 check fee. They have a $5000+ laptop at mine, that tellss exactly what causes the failsafe, light or whatever...
Do you have an aftermarket TB? and what is your other misc parts?
IF it gets too terribly lean, it might send to failsafe, but idk, like he said, im not authority either, just fought with failsafe when i put the a/m tb on...

I'm going to ask this question, only because it has been the answer to several peoples problems not realizing exactly what was occurring.

Is the traction control turned off?

I know it sounds stupid. However, I believe 5 or 6 times on here people have not realized how the traction control worked, it feels as though the car shuts down, and occurs with any loss of traction.

yea i have the traction control turned off... and the tune is just me quick with the act i bought it unlocked so yea... that might be my problem.. the misc parts are just a throttle body spacer, short throw, yadda yadda... stuff that doesn't really make a differance....

hate 2 tell ya bro but everything you add to that motor makes a difference, my stang was doing alot of the same stuff but you either need to have a pro shop tune it or like your pals above said find a cool dealer to look at it
