Anyone With CAMS???
I am trying to get all my facts straight before I start moddifying my 07 GT I wanted to ask for peoples opinions about COMP Stage III cams w/springs and retainers... I will install JBA long tubes if I do this mod.
Reliable? How much more rwhp? My tuner said he could get 315-325rwhp out of my car with (Intake, tuner, underpullies, remove restrictor plates, borlas, custom tune) But I want more than that! |

I plan on doing cams myself but as of yet have not...hears what I know thus far...make sure your potential cams are not TOO big or you'll regret it as the car will assume a very nasty idle. However, you can gain shit tons of power, probably around 20-30rwhp. You can push your R's a little further too with a new valvetrain and pick up some more power. However, BIG lift cams, I mean real big will only make this power in the higher R's which is exactly why the valve train needs upgrading. You will lose low end power however so keep that in mind. Also make sure your cams are not intended more towards a forced induction set up. If you really want results do CNC ported heads and then you'll have a complete set. With a custom tune you're looking at more like 65-75 rwhp.

I hope that someone with cams replies. I am very curious to know some real cost and real results.

I spoke with my local speed shop on this and they are not happy with the results of the Comp III Cams. 30 RWHP sucks for the price. I don't think this will be a good mod for these motors because of the Variable Cam Timing, too much involved to get it right.

First post on here. I have the BBR stage II cams and love them. Grant it, it has taken a local tuner here in washington 3 weeks to get it right, since it is a daily driver, but it was worth the wait. I have a roush supercharger and I lost 1 pound of boost and still gained 37 RWHP on a real stingy mustang dyno.
