Stock Hood Scoop question

Whats up mustang communtiy, ive been doing a lot of research latley on forums and just am in love with this one so i joined it, this is my first time posting anything and was just lookin for a lil help:

I got the performance package on my 07 GT that included the engine cover, spoiler, and hood scoop when i bought it. I was wondering if/how if someone could explain... if i could remove the plastic honeycomb insert in my hood scoop just cause im sure u all side with me, kinda just looks lame when ya look at it ya know?

side note, got U/D's, airaid, and flowmaster exhaust, and this wed. my sct tuner from brenspeed is scheduled to be delivered, i can't wait.

the honeycomb might be keeping a lot of air from catching in it. I dont know how well it it secured, but doing that may cause it to come off at high speeds, or in a touchless car wash with blowers (seen that one) due to so much air catching in the scoop, and having nowhere to go.
