Misfire codes, limp mode - Could UDP cause these??
I have had this problem with my 07 GT since I put the CAI on it ( @ 700 miles). Before I get slammed for it being the tune I have tried both BAMA and Brenspeed tunes, different gas stations, you name it.
When I have the C&L CAI installed with a tune I get the PO300 or specific cylinder codes at times. It also goes into limp mode for about 30 sec. The strange thing is that it does it at lower RPM's for the most part. I just drove 800 miles and crusing at 80 around 2500 RPM's or so it throws the DTC's and goes into limp mode. I have had issues with one of the tunes throwing these errors more frequently so I switched to a different one, had it dyno'd @ 295 RWHP and had them verify that the Air Fuel mixture was correct. Had no issues for a couple of months, but now it is back. While looking through the TSB's and searching the net I noticed a few threads where people saw the same thing and ended up pulling the UDP's and the problem went away. They said that the car would stumble on startup, possibly due to not enough voltage, which I have at times. I am quite frustrated with this condition, so much so I have pulled the CAI and put the stock tune back in to see if it comes back, but it hasn't yet... The addition of more air definitely causes an issue with the car. Anyone else out there having a similar issue, or think that the UDP could be causing my issues? Thx |
