Tired of waiting on Kooks long tube headers for GT500

My dad just canceled his order for his Kooks long tube headers for his GT500 after waiting for 2 months for them to arrive, went with the JBA long tube headers instead - does anyone have any expirence with the JBA long tube headers on a GT500?

No experience with JBA, but curious where your papps was getting his Kooks from. Direct at manufacturer or from a vendor? If fendor, then why not try someone else? What's the explanation for the delay?

Boosted, some vendors have had stock on this set in both the catted and non catted. Others place the order with the manufacturer the minute you pay.

Kooks works a little different than other manufacturers, they run their header seats in 3 week stints. So they take and run production on 05-08 mustangs for three weeks, nothing else gets manufactured. Then they swap out all the jigs across a 3 day window and go back into prodction for the next models header sets. This causes what you may have experienced, back order delay.

The thing is, if you shop around some of these online vendors stock several sets because they know how Kooks runs production. Just a matter of finding one.

If you already ordered the JBA then cool, but if not I would check around.

Another awesome manufacturer is ARH (american racing headers). Awesome quality and fit. I run the Kooks and couldn't be happier. Actually toured their facility in Bayshore NY and was extremely impressed with their work.
