thats gonna be a seriously quick car. From what you sayin he's inexperienced, but that car wont be a slouch. If your not runnin drag radials you know traction will be your issue, and that car being an automatic and runnin DR's with a stall, you cant not have a good launch an quick 60 ft. Just run hard and hope for the best is all I can say.

I have a friend with 99 trans am Ls1 manual with heads cams full exhaust with headers and ram air with aluminum driveshaft (which is stock) and the dyno said 365 to the wheels and the fucker moves. I don't think this guys ride is much more than that by what you say but if you run a s/c with your mods you should be a little more than that to the wheels. Your hp's are in the ballpark so it may be a traction game. Maybe you should buy HMSUN's slicks

haha. youre gonna pretty much see his taillights every run.

http://performance-dyno.com/Gallery/...SSheadscam.jpg

thats my buddys 98 with heads, cam, aftermarket F.A.S.T. intake, full exhaust. 460 to the rear wheels. Thats without the spray, because most Ls1 owners spray.

The numbers he is throwing in youre face dont sound made up...and im sure there is room for improvement.

something seriosly must be wrong with ur friends car. Those cars from the factory dyno at over 300 to the wheels. You put heads and cam and a exhuast you should be well into the 400's. Those LS1's are monsters.

and to answer the question is you'd get smoked like a xmas ham. Especially if the TA's an auto. As long as the kid isn't stoned out of him mind, as long as he can get traction your coughing up his dust. He's prolly got about 20-30 horse on you, and is in a lighter car. Now, if the kids a douche and just spins out, you stand a chance, but past 100 i bet he'll run u down like ur a 3 legged bitch in heat.

BTW those times sound accurate, there was a link somewhere with a guy who had a option delete package on z28 bone stock running mid 12's with some slicks.

Sometimes I wish i was just delusional when it comes to this stuff. Unfortunately I'm not and I know my mustang is slow. Always will be no matter what in my book.

But hey, you shouldn't be buying a mustang if your looking ofr the fastest biggest bang for your buck. If i had dough I'd invest my money in a new zo6, but im not rich, nor even close to it.

sorry i should have been more clear. I feel that brand new, the mustangs are not a very good deal. The only mustang I feel ford has done right buy was the mach 1. I have issue's with the cobra, because i feel the only snake belongs to carol shelby, and i feel the only part of the new cobra that is him is the design. I do not like the power plant in the 500, last time i checked there was supposed to be something big in there, I feel the 5.4 is just mediocre.

I love mustangs and always will. I would proudly recommend a mustang to anyone of my friends. I just have my issue's with them, and feel that i wouldn't want to be lied to about a car, so why should i start lying about them.

I'm not trying to knock the mustang. If i was i'd say the mustang is $h!tt!er then a dihatsu. I'm a pessimest and look at things negatively, for this i'm sorry.

+1 the mustang is the best value when it comes to performance cars.
Uh and wheres the 2007 camaro It doesnt exist.HA HA Really the LS
engines are no joke.Hopefully for all the Camaro fans they arent overpriced and overweight. One of my friends has a seriously fast LS Camaro that would put caspers buddies car to shame.GM has decided to stick with the pushrod engine and develop it to make great power while Ford started the OHC engines which are smaller displacement have
a lot more power in it. the 4.6 4v N/A making the same power as the ls1.
2007 calispecial you will def need DRs or slicks, maybe the camarokid he'll snap that toy 10 bolt differential that comes stock in his car.

I dunno i kind of feel that the mustang has gotten left behind since it's got no one left to compete with. Even though the chargers and what not have the hemi's, there still luxaurey cars.
I just feel that since ford is competing with cars like the STI and EVO and 350Z there basically giving us just enough to satsify you for 3 days, then left feeling wanted. The Vette and Viper are completely outclassing even Fords latest "JawDropper" Shelby. Hell I bet even the GT500KR gets stomped out. I'm not trying to insult Ford, they did a semi good job on the car. She needs a better suspension and to drop a few lbs.

The unfortunate problem with ford is that when they were designing the new S197 they got a lot of feedback from owners that they like the suspension set up. I would of prefered newer technology, for one reason that car handles terribly in the rain because one wheel turns faster than the other in a corner.

Got to admit makes mean burnouts and easy to drag!

For people like me though, takes alot of money to get it worthy to road race

t/a is gonna rape that mustang. also someone buddy said they only made 360 with heads and cams, that must have been a poorly thought out setup, becuase its not unheard of for ls1 with heads and a cam to make 500 or real close. if the kid can drive the ls1 your gonna get smoked

well...my cousin had a '00 Camaro, LS1 of course...and had....

Intake
NO Exhaust (As is not even headers. I know. obnoxious.)
Not sure about suspension
Heads
Cam
UD pulleys
stall (again not sure)
slicks
I'm sure he had more, but it was a long time ago before i payed attention...

but anyway...he ran mid-ish 11's. Consistantly. And he could pull at least 3 ft. wheelies on takeoff....he even did it on the road once. That maro was RADICAL for an NA. As far as I know, (keep in mind i LOVE mustangs and have one/am getting one myself) LS1's can whoop us Stangers as many times as they want...unless you know what your doing. I'm talkin NA though. But theres no doubt killing LS1's are a goal to shoot for.

Just puttin in my two cents
