Help Make Rough Draft Of Buildup??

Im trying to go ahead and make a full rough draft of my mustang when i get it next year. Just to get a idea a price i should look for a used mustang, (slightly used) and to get a idea of how much all this will cost me.

I will be doing one of the following as a huge HP gain...Kenne Bell HO 10-12 PSI system, THP Twin Turbo kit, or Powerhouse Single Turbo.

Im thinking the Powerhouse single...cause its 500 cheaper in price, and probably less expensive to get installed. And with the saved money i could build the motor up.

but my question is....i know going up to 525+ RWHP is pushing it before hurting the engine....so what should i do to "build the engine" with that saved money??

Im probably going with the 3D Carbon 10 piece kit (i dont want a spoiler...i dont like the look).

Ill probably run Nitto 555's and 20 inch rims of some sort...black for sure.

Im going with a silver or white car, with black hood, black roof, and black trunk.

So with ALL this power ill be using, what should i get for suspension?? It WILL be a daily driver, and a stop light demon, but deff going to the track.

And as far as brakes, im debating on whether to do all four brakes, or just get a REAl heavy duty kit for the front since physics will put most that stopping power all up front.

THANKS ALL
Patrick

umm, first, look into some forged internals, or a forged pre-assembled shortblock. then a driveshaft, new gears with the right clutchpack, possibly axles (but most likely not), and some tranny beefing including a new clutch and shifter. LCAs and a uca, panhard with brace, and possibly a new k member support from CHE, that should get you started

....wow..modern..your going to run me dry.

i wont change my axles out and im 99% certain im not going to get a forged short block...ill just get internals.

also, im getting a auto tranny. but its going to be modded to be a ratchet shifter, so i upshift manual by just tapping a lever, and it downshifts automatically, and no clutch...well not a manual clutch atleast.

got a ballpark idea of how much all that would cost? minus the things i said?

That turbo kit is around $4,500 I believe... and turbo's always cost more to install than superchargers...

You will need a new/stronger driveshaft. Those are around $700 range + install.

I found from sean hyland that forged internals cost around $2,000 and install will be BIG price for that

20's with nice rubbers will cost anywhere from $1,500 TO $3,000

Also with all that power you are risking your transmission, if you went the best route then you would get a T56 Transmission (6 speed) for $5,500)

Total, you are looking at ALEAST $15,000

For example my Hellion turbo kit + guages + install + Custom dyno tune + stronger driveshaft = around $9,500! But if you think about it, sure beats having to pay $75,000 or more for another car to get the same power/speed I am about to be throwing out! My car in total costs around $41,500

thanks for that break down...that was helpfull to get me a picutre.

If i can find a nice used BASIC GT in a year for like 15K... i can take the rest for the mods. (ill have something lik 35K to play with).

but i have to do
engine
suspension
brakes
tranny/driveshaft
exterior mods (body kit and paint)
interior mods (stereo, and custom seats)
then small things like guages and stuff.

I bought my 06 used for 24k about three months ago... Of coarse it only had 7k miles on it and its a vert. But still your going to have a hard time finding what you want for 15k, unless you buy it wrecked and fix it or buy it ragged out and rag it out some more. Either of those two options are not a very good way to go in my opinion. Find the right car spend the money nes. for the car, then work with what you have for mods. you dont have to do everything at once. pace yourself.

I would prefer to have a nice car with 400hp than a ragged out car with 500hp...

i wont buy a ragged out car.

k maybe i wont find it for 15K....but its possible.

i mean i still have a whole year...so price depreciates in that time....plus the car im lookgin for is simply white, charcoal cloth interior....and a GT and automatic.

not like its a high optioned car.

cause when i get the trasnny built, they can mod it to have a "trigger" ...guess thats the best word i can think of to explain it.....and i use the trigger to upshift and the clutch is automatic....and it downshifts automatically without me doing antyhing.

so its like having paddle shift...except i only have to upshift.
