wiring question...need help


im putting in gauges and i need to know on the 06 mustang which wire behind the panel were you turn the lights on is the power wire

do you have a test light to see what wires are postive wires? what type of gauge are you installing

YUP!!! Your white (gauge light) wires from your gauges need to splice to the Black wire with the White stripe on the back of the panel light dimmer rheostat, next to the headlight switch. If you use that one, you'll be able to dim your gauge lights with your panel lights and they'll turn on and off with the parking lights...that one was easy, it was finding the 12 volt switched for the red wires that was tough for me...I used the power out from my intercooler pump relay for that...even with the volt tester I couldn't find a good power supply behind the switch...not sure why...

The white w/ blue strip is the power wire on the head light switch and the other to ground of the car. thats is for a light hookup.

grabber thanks for the help and if you ever hook anything up again that needs a 12v switch soruce use a thing call add a circuit...it goes right into your fuse box...its so much easier....

Ya. thats where i have my wires hooked up. the lights on the guages dim with the dash lights.
