Synchros? PLZ HELP FORD IS BSING ME
My trans is giving me fits wont go into reverse they tell me to synchronize it which annoys me cause I didnt use to have to do this. It grinds with the clutch in when I try to go strait to reverse. The ford dealer say it is a non-synchronized and may need to be synced before using reverse. Point being I think there BSing me cause It didnt use to do this any advice would be nice.

I think what they are referring to is like what I have had to do with my T5 in my 91 ( which Im sure every 5.0 does ) is rather than going straight into reverse trying going to fifth then to reverse, just keep the clutch depressed and try it. I bet it will go smoothly. Just something you have to get used to, It took me a little bit in my 91...

My mach1 would do this to me sometimes. Do like he said,go to 6th then to Reverse or go to 1st then to reverse...
Is it doing it "everytime" you try to go to reverse? if it is, then the ford dealer is BSing you, they will do anything to get out of work! I had Ford install a 4.10 FR gear in my new GT and it was whineing so I took it back, was in the shop three days. I call to see what the problem is and they said, "oh, well we cant hear anything" I had to go up there and drive them around in the car and I could perfectly hear is whining, of course his reply "I can't hear anything" It's awesome when your 18 and you call a 30 year old man dumb Ended up having to take it to a mustang tuner to get it fixed |

take it to the dealer and go for a ride with one of the techs or have him drive it. then see what they say. but then its gonna be one of those cases when it doesn't do it when you take it to the mechanic lol.

It will do it In front of them and they looked at it twice they sayed it just needs to be synced dam you ford

on mine (3650) my thrid wont quit going out.
I have friends at transmission shops, and im going to try and pull the 3650, and swap a t56, for not much money if at all possible. I dont know what else to do on it???

Ive almost lost reverse completly so when it wont go in to reverse at all I say now what fix it they cant tell me my car didnt come with reverse

I have that same problem with mine. I try to go into reverse and it wont go, or just grinds even if the clutch is pushed all the way down. And just like "fastfox" said up there a buddy of mine said to go into fifth before reverse, now it goes in fine. But this is in a 07 GT, your pic shows a GT500 so I dunno how much help this is.

Its the synchros man fords gay and tells me they car has a non-sychronized trasnmission so im hope my hole trany will go that will show them Ive partially lost reverse takes like 3 times to get it to go once i have no reverse Im betting there gona tell me the shelby didnt come with reverse dam you ford.

Goto another shop and also ask to talk to the factory rep that should get their attetnion.

yes they have them if not you wouldn't be able to shift at wot until the revs matched the gear rpm

tell him he's an idiot and ask him to fix your transmission. look at aftermarket transmission rebuild places on internet and see that every rebuild comes with new syncronizers, so i'll be willing to bet that they are in there. had problem with z28 the 3rd. gear sync. kept going out and it was t56

The tech @ your dealer is an idiot, Every gear is sync, at least mine is, haven't had any problems with mine, reverse goes in even if my car is moving @ 1mph forward.
