05 GT Brakes

i have a 2005 roush sport with the complete roush kit, roushcharger, and 19 inch TSW rims. the only problem is that with 400 RWHP i have stock GT brakes. im looking for the upgrade but size and type are a question. ive heard slotted and drilled are great but only for racing cars and the cost a lot of money. i also wanted to know brand and calipers too. how many, brand, and where i can find a website that has powder coated ones. im in the army so money is somewhat a problem but i need some advice. what cha got for me

welcome to the site. there are a number of good brands out there such as baer, brembo, wilwood, steeda, and even roush. maybe you should look into the roush to go along with your car. i dont have any experience with them but i posed a similar thread and somebody sugested buying porsche ca;iper off of ebay and the fabbing your own system. just getting a big break kit for the front would be fine. but you could put some performance rotors and pads in the rear. one more thing, do you plan on doing and racing with the car? like autocross or on a road course?

with the same brakes as the GT500, the GT will stop faster because its a couple hundred pounds lighter.

ok thanks for the replies. now is size or even slotted and drilled going to matter when you are just driving with the occasional drag? and is ebay the best website to find brakes because i have seen that a lot of different websites vary with price from one to another.

go with 14" slotted rotors. the drilled ones tend to crack unless they are the super expensive ones. for what you're looking for go with something like this-http://www.steeda.com/products/gt_front_brake_kit.php or http://mossmustang.com/Shop/ViewProd...eIndexID=49148

I absolutely love the Hurst. I initiall bought the Steeda Tr-Ax and couldn't stand the notchyness of it, plus it was VERY noisy. It sounded like there was no boot to insulate sound from the transmission. A lot of people like them though, just not me. The Hurst is very smooth, has a descent short throw, and looks MUCH better in appearance. The Hurst ball finishes off the stick nicely.

hey man, the naer rotors you mentioned by them selves will be fine but you're better off buying a complete kit as opposed to buying the rotors and calipers seperate. and im pretty sure those decelarotors are the stock size. this kit will suit your needs perfectly. http://www.steeda.com/products/gt_front_brake_kit.php
but unless you want the kit stricktly for the looks you would be able run some high quality rotors and pads and be fine. then you could just paint the stock calipers. and my car is an auto so i cant say from experience but from what ive heard on here and other places MGW is the shifter god. i suggest posting a new tread for the shifter topic you you will get more feedback.

here are some links to pads/rotors:
