Strut question

When you take apart the struts, there is a large bolt on top that you unscrew to release the spring. The threading on the top of the strut seems to give no indication as to how far that bolt should be screwed back on after servicing the strut. I reckon it's easy enought to screw it on the same amount for each strut, but how far should it be threaded? I can't find the answer in my Haynes manual and wonder if any of you know. Before you stone me, no, I didn't mark it when I took it off.

So it sounds like you simply screw them on until they stop. Nothing scientific. Weird.
