battery dieing?

20,000 miles on the clock... randomly driving the radio shuts off and then says lo battery? eventually the guages go out, but the car still runs fine. I park the car and shut it off. I let it rest and the electrical works a little. But now it wont start? Pretty sure the batterys dead, but theres no reason for that. has this happened to anyone else?

Sounds more like the alternator isn't suppling the battery with a charge

if you run the system check on the trip computer what does it say about the charging system? and has the CEL come on? i agree with gremlin, it sounds like the alternator took a dump.

07-5-13
DISCHARGED BATTERIES - VEHICLES IN STORAGE/LIMITED USAGE

07-5-8

those are the only TSBs out for the 2006's that have anything to do with the battery.

Well the car stayed in the garage for a week in the garage. But it drove fine for 5 days after we got back from vacation.

Well could the supercharger have killed the alternator, or could it be underpowering it?

Whats the chance of an alternator crapping out at 20,000 miles? I have a lot of cars and worst i have seen is 50,000 miles. Maybe a bad battery thats killing the alternator. I'm going to throw a new battery on in the morning and see how long it lasts. Can autozone do an alternator load check.

Yes, autozone can check the alternator. In my 3 vehicles that had the alternator go out, a tell tale sign was the air condition stopped working first, then the Brake fluid light came on next. Afterwards, you needed to get your ass home, or you would be stranded in about 15 minutes. Those vehicles were imports however

The supercharger shouldn't have changed the revolutions of the alternator, so I doubt that's the problem. No if you had done pulleys and were suddenly seeing this happen it would be another story. Even so, I would still check the alternator first

Well I was driving the car when it happened. The radio went off so we shut the ac off. Next thing I noticed was the abs light came on. Then the ac wouldn't go on. Then the guages stopped working. Sound familiar lol? I'd be happy knowing it's just a battery or alternator.

I'm betting its the Alternator, My Avalon's Alternator took a crap, but the only thing that gave it away was the fact the battery sensor came on and when going up a hill it became sluggish until the A/C was turned off and it got strength again, shotly after it spotered and died on the side of the road.

Then my bet goes towards dead alternator, if the car is running, the battery ain't gonna be in use unless the Alternator craps out.
