I consider my self a good driver but never been on the track before I know not to do a burn out on street tire cause it will just make them brittle but is there any thing else I should know

who told you that?

the purpose of doing the quick burn out is to heat up your tires thus letting the rubber expand for better traction.

Drive AROUND the water box... don't put any of your four tires in it. Straighten out and do a small small burnout because there streetires. then roll up to the line. Idk what rpm you launch at but just slip the clutch so you don't spin.

It's my dads car but like I said EVERY wed and fri were at the track and I race it. It's an auto.

But burnouts and tc play a big role.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=2Nj841PvQsE

Thats our first time ever to the track. The first run there was no burnout and tc was left on. 13.6

The second run was tc off and a small burnout.

The third one is the same combo

The 4th and 5th runs were small burnouts... you want to be able to see just a little smoke and then don't just stop, make sure you roll out of it to the line. The track feels like a slippery concrete so when u mash it theres no traction but with a good burnout you can leave at a strong rpm. When it's your first time out don't expect to run the best times like 13.5 or .6. Get use to the track and get some seat time. Then watch your times go down.
