ok so, someone...ie my roommate, left an open bag of gummy bears in my passenger seat...and you can all probably guess where this is going, but they melted and now there is a gummy lake in my passenger seat...any ideas on how to resolve this situation? besides kicking his ass(already did) im throwing ice packs on it now to try to get it frozen and hopefully it will pull right off...anyone have any experience with this?

I would advise just scrubbing that shit out with a wet cloth and then use leather treatment stuff to finish it up. Maybe use some Goo-Gone to try and loosen it all up?

You seem to have the rigght idea. Freezing gum does the trick so it should work for Gummi Bears. Failing that you'll have to lick it clean.

first od all i just want to say that sucks but second...try and freez it and then use peanut butter...that is how you get gum out of stuff...like hair and whatnot....and then just wash it with resovle or something like it...

Look under the seats, bro, 4 bolts will take it out. Also watch for electrical connections if you have a power seat, & for the air bag sensors. Make sure the ignition is off when you disconnect & reconnect that plug, as I'm not sure if that would affect the Airbag system. I've had both the seats out of my car when we did the stereo, and we just made sure the ignition was off, and had no problems.

As for getting the gummi bears off, freezing them was probably your best bet.

I'm not sure how this works for gummy bears but for candle wax you put a paper towel over it and then a medium hot iron and it sucks the wax into the paper towel. I think I'd melt a gummy bear on a rag and test it before trying it on a seat though.

That sounds like a goo trick. Just be careful with that iron. Worst case scenario, Tommy, take it to a professional detailing shop, and see what they can do......and have buddy pay for it.

if you cant freeze it that way, get two cans of the computer blowing air, and turn them upside down, which gives off the freezing gas/liquid combo...that might help.
If anything, re-heat it up with a hair dryer or heat gun (watch the cloth!!!!!!), and then wipe it up, and then try the freeze method again.

if all else fails, detail shop might get it for you...

you could just pic up some liquid nitrogen and freeze it off

but freezing it sounds like the best bet and as a last ditch effort take it to a detail shop.
