2005 gt


Are the computers on a 2005 mustang gt the same as on my 02 gt? im looking at buying a sct xcal2 from a guy.. just trying to make sure it will work on my car..

i thought someone said that the new stangs computers didnt change till like 06 or something.. do u guys think that it will still work w/ my car or probably shouldnt chance it?

The S-197 uses the Spanish Oak computer and it's different.

True. If you read on most sites they say that the tuner is the same but its programmed for each car. Maybe you can download the right software for it?

You can use the sct xcal2, but first you have to get it 'unmarried' from the 02 PCM. A tuner can do that for you, or SCT themselves will do it as well.
Usually it costs 50 bucks or so.

i emailed the guy about it and he said "It won't work on your car. This one has to be on an '05 or newer car. Thanks for the interest." i figured that it probably wouldnt matter if it was unlocked

It depends on the part number.

If it's a SF 9415A it will work on your 02 Once you remove the VIN lock.

If it's a SF9415B it is not supported for your year vehicle.

Both of those are considered an 'xcal2'.

how do i tell which one it is? how will the guy who has it be able to tell?

If it says "Scan Flash" on the bottom it will work for your car. If it says "Xcalibrator2" then it will not. They look the exact same except for the sticker near the bottom. A scan flash will even work on F-series trucks including diesels.
