S/C Install Question: removing the factory hood liner?

So did you follow the instructions or did you leave yours in?

From the Whipple manual:

HOOD LINER: Under highway driving, the hood liner will push down towards the SC pulley, this will put a cut in the hood liner. It’s recommended that you remove the hood liner. Remove the factory plastic clips and the hood liner will come off.

Still have mine, But Im running a procharger ( centrifical not roots type ) so mines not jammed into the hoodliner its tucked away up front. I think most of the SC cars around here have aftermarket hoods, so I dont believe they would. Hope this helps... You could try googling supercharged mustangs and the pics will show the hood popped to show off the supercharger, see if they have the liners in.

New hood, umm...yeah...did you see my post on the rust issue on my hood?

Anyways, not sure what I want to do as yet in terms of a new hood...so still curious who else has a roots charger on top and what their experience is with clearance...

My Saleen blower actually burn holes in my hood liner. Cant wait till I find a good hood that I actually like and that'll fit my car....

i have the whipple, it did cut into mine just a little bit but not that big, I would say about the edge size of a nickel. its a hoodliner but I really dont care if it has a small cut in it from the pulley, still runs fine and doesnt hit the underside of my hood

Just get a razor blade and carve out a small area in the hood liner for the pulley.
