I can't say from experience, but from what I've heard they do make a difference, especially when the car has F.I.

Funny, steeda advertises only 10rwhp. Were there other big mods I wonder? Or maybe he was FI. Anyway, I'm excited cause I just bought those, CNC Ford racing heads and Comp cams, and 4.10's=about 100rwhp. Haha, now I just need to get the shit on...damnit.

How do you figure ported heads with cams will get you 100hp. I hope they do! not trying to rain on your parade i just never heard that. Im thinking about ported heads, comp cams and stroking it to 302 and that wont get me 100rwhp thats why im asking.

Which comp cams did you get?

If you look at what he wrote I think he meant with heads, cams, CMD plates, and 4.10s = about 100RWHP I hope he ment "feels" like 100rwhp because you are right at best with all that you are looking at 70-80 actual HP and that depends on the Cam grind and the port job on the heads it could be lower.

would have to be a agressive cam i guess. I have been reading about them lately cuase im shopping, dont know. i dont think i have found a total head, cam, stroker kit together yet to see the gain. they either stroke it and port the heads with stock cams or do cams and heads. i did see one cam and head setup get 57 i think but that car already had delete plates and TB. I forget what cam that was.

well 400+ rwhp is within the relm of possibility for full boltons and a really good head and Cam combo. BBR has dynod 400+ at the wheels and could have gotten more with improved fuel delivery and tuning.

But they are comp stage IIIs and the FRPP heads so he won't see 400rwhp.

i know this thread is about CMC's, but here is a tech articel from MM&FF this car's baseline was 333 and they got a 35hp gain from the comp cams and springs alone, so 368 all together pony's......i guess we could expect close to400 hp all n/a. my friend john who cars i posted in the other thread about the t-56 supposedly purchased another set of 3v heads to play around with at dayton performance, im gonna see what he gets out of his car before i decide anything.

heres the article.
Ford Mustang Comp Cams Swap - Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords

just to add, we talked about this car on another board and here is a response i got.

Not sure how a dyno dynamics dynomometer compares to standard dynojet readings. It does not show what correction factor is used either. I know there is a 7rwhp and 6rwtq difference between SAE (defacto standard) and STD on best to date dyno runs.

333rwhp seems a little on the high side for the mods listed. What I would pay more attention to in the article is the 35rwhp and 18rwtq gain of the camshafts. That is pretty solid.

The highest dynojet numbers I have seen from non-ported head cammed 3v is 370rwhp and 349rwtq. That was with every bolt on and crane stage 4 cams. I posted a video of the car and it idled like a pro stock car.

Did some testing with a couple of differant bolt ons from just pulleys to head cam package.

1st Graph/ Bolts on's & Custom tune

2nd Graph/ Ford Racing cylinder heads
&Custom tune

3rd Graph/ Add Cams & Custom tune

All testing done on 06 Manual GT Mustang

We have actually found that the IMRC plates have picked up almost 20h.p. to the tire in some N/A applications. But figured maybe you guys would like to see some of the graphs on testing we did

What cams were those on that graph? and what do you think i could expect with stroking it to 302 and then the same cams and heads on your test?
