Lucas oil and fuel treatment products?

I bought some Lucas upper engine lubricant fuel treatment, Ford does not want you to use any regular injector cleaner and stuff like that, is it alright to use in the S197 and what do you all know about the stuff? If I can't use it in my mustang I can use it in my F-150 4x4.

I have not used any in my car yet ,but I do know they make great products. I have been using their oil stabilizer in my 95 GMC Z71 for a while and now has 255,000 miles on the un-touched engine. I have used the injector cleaner several times too and everything keeps running smoothly. All the manufacturers reccommend not to use these products but if you go to the dealerships they'll be selling a product that basically the same but says Ford or some other make on it, just twice as high. Thats just my opinion I bet somebody on here has used a similiar product on a S197.

I run Lucas oil treatment in my old winter beater with 220,000 miles on it, and it helps slow down oil loss, and makes the old 302 a bit quiter, especially in the mornings.

Thanks, I wish someone that was a tech, or engineer was on the forum so we could find out why ford does not want any additives in the mustang. Except for octain booster, it burns your spark plugs up! I have had great results with many addatives, Duralube, and some fuel treatments, to name a couple. Also you have to be careful with injector cleaner it eats spark plugs as well! Lets hope someone can give us the scoop. I have looked all over the net and can't find the reason? I know that some additives have chemicals in them that are bad for aluminum and certain injectors and plastics, but lucas fuel lubricant has no solvents and claims it can be used in anything????

its because the engines are meant to have a light weight oil in them and any additives would change the viscosity from the stock 5w20
