Oil change dilemma

I had my oil changed at the dealership about a month ago, and ever since I have had a slight loss in power and an average of 4mpg less. Could this have been caused by the wrong type of oil used in the change? I think the mustangs call for 5w20, right?

If for example 10w30 was put in it you would have some power loss, but 4 miles per gallon????? I would run it right back up to the dealership. Other damage may occur but I doubt it, take it back. You can tell yourself there is a large viscosity difference.

Something is def. wrong, take it back! Be polite but firm with the shop manager and he will figure it out, are you under warranty.

Dealers are a pain in the ass. Before you buy a vehicle they kiss your ass. Then after you've bought the vehicle they totally ignore your needs. What year and engine you got? Have you considered switching to full synthetic?

This is SOOOOOO f'ing true... I've been arguing with my dealership to get my rear defroster changed, and they've yet to approve replacement... I'm short of going directly to the manager or big daddy ford, or just taking legal actions... its a safety hazard when I can't see shit behind.

From the way my dealer acted about their review and how I would be filling it out; the one sent to me by Ford and the info. the poor salesman filled me in on, Ford is looking to reduce dealers and are using reviews of such to determine if the dealership can retain their franchize!! But I do know they freak out when you complain to the MAN. Check your computer readout by pressing the info button untill you come to your average MPG. I drive 50% highway, 50% town and average 22 MPG. My foot is a middle weight.

Oh Ya! If you are under the estamated MPG by quite a bit they will check it out under warranty, but have them check the oil first.

Luis, I had a problem with the rear defroster on my 05 GT. Only 4 or 5 of those heating strips actually worked. Dealership said that Ford had made a repair kit (must've been a problem with many of them). The repair kit looked like my 8 year old painted over the orange stripes with white out. Needless to say, the service manager ordered a completely new rear window. Luckily I hadn't tinted them yet. You need to get them to replace that rear window before the warranty expires.
