cdc shaker system question
anyone have this installed on their stang? ive been looking to get one, but im wondering if its worth it and if theres any gains on its own and also paired with a CAI? and i know you gotta cut a hole in the hood but i have an 07 with the fake hood scoop, but my pinstripes run over it and i like the look. so im wondering if its possible after the shaker system is installed and since the hood scoop is separate from the hood, would there be enough clearence to just weld the scoop back on the hood over the shaker system? any info would be awesome, thanks!

There will not be any noiticable HP gains from the shaker and why would you want to cover up the shaker with the scoop it wont fit over it anyway you will have to cut a bigger hole in your hood but most people just buy the hood that has a 69 70 beak style hood that has the hole pre cut or they get them cut

I doubt it would clear but why would you want to cover up something that says pure muscle with something that says pure show in 8 languages???

No you wouldnt want to try that. As far as gains you may get an extra 2-3 hp at 70 mph, but thats about it.

Go for a C&L or a JLT with what ever software your tuner uses. Something like SCT or Predator.

here's my take on the whole scoops situation.
if you dont plan on going S/C, then get the shaker system. its a nice looking piece compaired to the stick on scoops from Ford. however, if you do plan on S/C down the road, then forget the shaker system and get a functional hood instead, you can get a great looking functional hood for the same price as the shaker. you will have fitment problems if you decide to get a twin s/c and a shaker system, for you will have a VERY hard time fitting a shaker system with a TS. you will have to cut about 90% of the kit itself to get it to fit on a twinscrew. those with centri blowers have no problems. with a shaker system. the choice is yours. I dont want you to end up buying a 800 shaker system that does nothing for power and then decide to get a twin screw blower and your left with a hole in your hood and 800 out of your wallet |

I had the shaker and its pretty cool for looks and all but you will not gain and HP and will not notice it. I just got blown and had to take the thing off so it was a big waste of money. If whoever said it is correct, if you plan on getting blown down the road, forget the shaker. It is a big waste of money if you do go blown because sure you can modify it, I've seen it done, but it's not worth the money and if you do go with the shaker, you do not want to modify the scoop you have right now. If you spend the money on the shaker, you want that sucker showing and "shaking" like it's supposed to do. And about modifying it down the road, you want the blower showing when you pop up that hood not a big, bulky, shaker.
