I know you said no exhaust, but you can gain a good 10hp for $150 by putting on an O/R h or x pipe and it will sound way!!!!!! better

i must say i'd go with at least some axle backs. make that beast LOUD. before you start to mod the hell outta that stang you should decide where you want to be when you are finished modding. do you want to be N/A or do you want to be blown.

Some other cheap mods that will produce slightly less grinning are an electric water pump, and an underdrive pulley ( maybe not together with the electric water pump). Research the Charge motion delete plates before you consider them, I've read that they give you more power here but rob it from there. You could also research on ignitions. They aren't talked about here very much but the magazines seem to routinely go with aftermarket spark when testing products. But for $1000, if I had to pick I'd say DS and gears. We'll that's not completely true. My first mod is a watts link and new control arms. |

great man...thanks for the advice...alot of people recommended gears and driveshaft...i saw an article that shows if you put a aluminum drive shaft on a stock s197 it drops you into high 12s...so its definately worth it...and nice avatar by the way...hot ass

Who said a drive shaft will put you in 12's lol. Thats some bit time bs
. Get 4:10's for your car. With intake tune exhaust gears and drive shaft your prob in extremely low 13's. With some sticky tires maybe 12.9

I could easily believe driveshaft and gears could put you in the 12s with the right driver.
I probably couldn't get there, but I'm sure some drivers can.

If I lost 30 lbs of fat I'd be as much ahead as an aluminum driveshaft!
How much of a pain is it to replace the pulleys? Suppose I'd need a puller too? |

no you wouldn't. 30lbs is a lot when talking about a driveshaft. its all about the rotating mass. your car has to turn 30 less pounds. that puts more hp to the ground.
It's not like just stripping 30lbs.

')wtfwow...sum of the people on here are freakin performance retarded,lol...you dont change to an aluminum driveshaft to shed thirty pounds of dead weight...you do it to shed 30 pounds of rotating mass...resulting in more power to the wheels...you dumb ass...thank god there are sum educated people in here

DS people, if you want a crued example of what your car is dealing with when it spins the DS. Pick up a 5 pound dumball by one end and point the other end away from you. Twist it back and forth paying attention to the effort it takes to spin the weight one way, slow it down, and reverse directions. Now try the same thing with a 10 lb dumbell. Your drivetrain deals with this same situation when it transfers power from the tranny to the DS. The brakes deal with this situation when you apply them. While slowing the wheels, the breaks are also slowing down the spinning drive shaft since it's fixed to the rear axels by the differential. |

Look who's stupid- it is spelled "some", not "sum". When using God's name in vain, do it right and spell it with a capital G.

Vain means useless, flippant, etc.
BTW, if you don't want to control flamers on your board there's other bulletin boards. Adios. |
