MGW 05+ Shifter

Got a reply from George at MGW:

"the gear whine you hear is actually quite normal and is not harmful at all . you can lessen the noise by installing "more dynamat" material UNDER the shifter area and making sure that there are no air gaps around the base of the shifter and the oval cutout in the car. the reason you hear more tranny whine however is due to the fact that you do not have all that mushy rubber. call me if you have any questions or concerns."

regards
george

So i think weve already said the sheet of Dynamat thats comes with the shigter should be enough to keep the noise blocked. So maybe my Mechanic didnt install the Dynamat properly ?

But then George is saying I need more dynamat? Im confused here. Any help on this. Thanks All

I agree it is a superior unit bro, and love the way it shifts, but that Whine noise ....somethings wrong...either my mechanic or need more Dynamat?

Well, Me, I have about 1/2 the dynamat it originaly came with... I took about half of it off when I re-installed my stock shifter... and to tell you the truth, I like how it sounds... gives the interior more rumble from the exhaust without the need of waisting 500 bucks on some borlas

Why did u resintall ure stock shifter . . Warranty Work ?

MGW ,It does make more "Rumble" in the car but thats normal with or without the shifter. (Whining noise has got to go, looking into it)
