when ever i changed over to synthetic it felt like it ran smoother. just over all. but then again i won a deal with royal purple and changed all my fluids over to synthetic. Engine oil, rear end, and tranny.

Thats what is important do not maintain the same rpms for long periods. changing rpms will help the parts set.

speaking of break in stories here is one. When i got my 750 gixxer the SALESMAN told me to not take it over 4000 rpms for the first 600 miles. So like a dumb ass I listen to a salesman. Well for those of you that dont know my bike redlines at 15500 so 4000 is nothing its like saying dont take your stang over 2000. It is impossible. at 4000 im doing 55 in 6th. That isnt even the speed limit on the highway. and six hundred miles is a long time on a bike. so I am trying to do the right thing. Finally I read my manual and it said try not to take it over 7000 rpms for long periods and change rpms frequently becuase as the rpms go up and down the parts expand and contract and it helps them to set as they do. anyway salesman for cars are idiots too. Had one the other day at a ford dealership, no lie.... think a shelby gt was a gt 500. They were selling it for 42000 and I said that mark up is to much she said for a gt 500 that is a steal I said yea but this is not a gt500 she pointed at the word shelby and said yea it is. I just laughed and said ok. Do they train these salespeople or what? also had one at a used lot tell me the hurst shifter was a 800 dollar factory option on the stang. Maybe l look young or dumb dont know.
