Good news and Bad (sorta)

Got the prochamber and headers kit in. = good news

Bad news = having a hard time getting the stock manifolds off. has anyone does this..well someone obviously has. but we need a little help (me and my bro)
we have removed dip stick and steering shaft and all that stuff.

hopefully we don't have to remove motor mount?

if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated!
looking for great write ups bout this too

Yep...motor mounts gotta be loosened and the engine supported on a wood block to get the clearance to get the headers in...

I'll be upgrading my mounts when the headers go in...watching the engine try to do a loop in the engine bay without a load on it makes me nervous...don't want to know what it does with a 4000 r.p.m. clutch drop on slicks...I know the driveshaft likes to hit the bottom of the tunnel pretty hard though...

Ahem...sound clip?? Seriously... :wink That's the kit I'm looking at as well...as a matter of fact, if you can send it to my e-mail, that would be splendid, as I'm pretty limited on my media playing abilitites here...

ok another thing for yall

start it up
runs fine!
but i noticed a small ticking noise coming from the exhaust

it doesn't have cats anymore so could this be what it is from? or is there an exhaust leak

and anyone have a clue how much it might cost for a shop to go ut and look at it and tighten up a bit?

Coming from the engine bay or the tip?? Did you try to recheck your torques yourself yet? All your connections are leak free? That's about all you can really look at...

hmm kinda where the prochamber is i wanna say

the more i think about it.
it kinda sounds like something is hitting one of the heatshields down there thats what it sounds like

and
i noticed i damaged one of the hooks that holds the pipe to the frame. as in the circle thing that the pipe hook slides into(don't know the exact name of it), it broke off and i completely removed it. i should try to get that replaced and see if it might fix it. just an idea that might be worth the try.

however this might not be it. but i did notice that it occurs alot in very low rpm and i give it gas idk for sure though.

That may be it...so you don't have any clearance issues? hmm...yeah I would replace that hanger anyways, just to be sure it doesn't cause problems in the future...if you tap on your prochamber with your fist or a soft mallet, is there any rattling in there? Might be a baffle or a weld in there somplcae that came undone? IDK...

i have rubbed it once since i got them on.
i need to lift the car. there is something for sure hitting a shield down there i can hear it but thats not what im gettin at.

but for cabin noise an offroad pipe also adds a noise to it too right?

i will feel so much ore relaxed as long as i know what the sound is.
if their was a leak wouldn't the check engine light pop up?

No CEL for an exhaust leak but I am 99% sure the hanger is making that noise because when I first got my exhaust installed it was making a rattling noise and it was just a loose hanger.

and even a pencil-sized hole somewhere in a broken weld or something will make an awful sound under the car...

Is it only when you are moving, or does it do it when you are just sitting still? And is it a (TICK) or a (CLANK)?

Ok. I am for sure that one of my problems is from the hangar, something is rattling, im pretty sure that i broke the other one after i put the mid pipe in we went over a huge jump up and down into a park, havn't looked under it yet though. i need to replace i probally can get online somewhere right?

and
there is a tick coming from the lower engine bay on the driver side..i'm not sure bout the passenger, very very light tick, it will get somewhat more loud and noticeable further up in the rpms i go. and it is a tick tick tick. fast light sound. although i noticed a very light ticking that would go away after i closed my hood when i was changing my oil bout a month ago? maybe i should just take it in and get someone to fix it.

dont know if this will help but when i installed the edelbrock headers in my car i had what sounds to me like the same type of noise as you. eventually had to pull the headers off and put in 2 gaskets instead of 1 per side, that did the trick. just a thought on the exhaust leak ...

you most definately must replace the gaskets. Your new headers should have had a new set of gaskets. probably why your check enginev light is on
