R.I.P ...Roush

Rest in Pieces to my roushcharger. Blew apart yesterday while I was driving about 25 mph on a busy street. It was actually days since I wound it out even a little bit. Should be covered under warranty and this will give me a good excuse to put a smaller pulley on. If it isn't covered by warranty I'll be switching brands or buying a new Shelby GT500. I can't imagine any reason it wouldn't be covered but I did get nervous when he asked me to authorize removal of the supercharger to see if it is covered by warranty.If anyone knows a reason for denial let me know so I can have my "reason" ready.

that sucks man. good luck with the warranty claim. what else do you have done. and what the heck happened at 25mph that would cause it to blow?

Thanks CobraR ...basically I have a shaker hood, roushcharger and flowmasters...the rest is all visual. I was probably driving too slow lol. I was looking for my daughter on the sidewalk where I was picking her up so I definately wasn't on it and it sounded like marbles in a tin can. It was so loud I thought it was the car next to me and when I turned off and the noise stayed with me Holy chit....pull over.

You should have went with a Whipple, but instead of buying a GT500 just build the motor in the GT, because the the GT is lighter and would be cheaper in the long run.

um....this throws a variable into my building plans. Keep us posted. I guess shit happens and now we'll see if Roush delivers.

Wally...I don't think anything happened to the motor .It drove normal except for the severe rattle noise. I drove about 3 blocks thinking it was the car next to me making the noise. I'll keep you informed...BTW I have about 10k miles on the car in case you are interested.

But doesn't the Shelby GT500 use a Roushcharger too? If they denied the claim, I wouldn't be sending money their way indirectly.

I believe I read somewhere that the Shelby comes stock with an eaton 122 supercharger...not sure but manowar or one of the other lucky owners may know.

The GT500 supercharger is much different than the Roush supercharger. Plus the Roush blower couldn't keep up wiht he demand of the bigger 5.4.

Get your money back for the roush and put it into a whipple, you still get to keep your warranty.
