low idle

so heres the situation...when i am coming to a rest with my foot on the clutch the rpm's drop to 300-500 and the car wants to stall out.

the car had already stalled out when i was goin about 15 mph. i was going about 35 mph in 3rd gear depressed the clutch and started to brake by the time i slowed down to 15 mph the car was off.

any ideas on why this is happening???

and after the car sits for about 5 seconds or so the idle returns to about 800-900 or so

A common idle related problem is attributed to a dirty throttle body. Cleaning it is a fairly straightforward process and is a good place to start.

A dirty thorttle body would more likely be related to throttle stickage not poor idle ( unless there was enought to jam the plate closed or cracked, but then it would be an issue with a raised idle level not the car dying ) and I doubt he has the miles on it yet to accumlate enought "crap" on his butterfly to have an issue with this... I would have to agree with the throttle position sensor... Also the tune hes running would be helpfull.
And I assume that he has the factory throttle body...

Then I would be leaning towards you TPS. How many miles are on your car? Did you try to do that mod that takes the dead space out of your pedal? or do any mods to the throttlebody, or anything along those lines?

there was a roush cai on it when i got it and i changed the axle backs...neither of which should effect it

I think I would definitally be led to believe your TPS was going out... Find somewhere that has one in stock and buy it and see if that fixes it, if it doesnt then package it back up and return it... It should be a simple R&R on the TPS...

I Highly doubt there is a return policy on electrical parts.

but at least they are cheap and if it's not the issue you can save it for when your tps does go out.

hey man mine does the same thing sometimes?? I don't know it's been like this for awhile. I'll go into my tuner and mess with the idle setting and it will usually fix it for awhile but then...back to low idle. I don't really know what to say..
