Look at the RPM range, its not even reach the top of the gears, plus with full exhaust, intake ( even if it is KN ), and a dynotune is good for as much as we are saying, and its more than 30hp, our cars stock have 30 at the crank and dynos read at the wheels...

she didn't say if she had long tubes. I just didn't think that that little of mods would get you over 300hp.

Pretty, the car looks fine in terms a/f, your not rich and it's decently flat across the rpm range. I've seen flatter, but more focus is given to that on a boosted car. Looks good for naturally aspirated..
Do you know what RPM they shut down the pull at. I gotta second fasts comments, looks like they cut out pretty dang early... |

291 sounds about right, your not going to get much power out of that K&N intake, no matter how much you tune it, you'll get 2HP more over the 15 HP when you dont have a tune. C&L or a JLT intake would of put you around the 305 range. you got the tune, but you got the wrong intake.

Shouldn't that A/F ratio be a little richer? Say 11.5 to 12.5?? IDK about NA, but that seems pretty lean...are you sure that the tune loaded properly? Mine was a bitch, had to do it 4 times to get it to load up...do you have another dyno close by?

What size wheels are you running? Numbers may be right with 19's or 20's. The dyno tuner probably didnt want to take the time to max out performance for you. In my experience you cant find anyone that really gives a shit about your car unless you personally know them.

I do feel the difference since getting the tune. It seems to not be as sluggish. I just thought the dyno looked a little off in comparison to my friend's car with the same amount of work. I called the guy yesterday and he basically said that the K&N sucks and I need to get something different. I am going to get a copy of the baseline today (went sailing last night so I didn't get a chance to stop down there). I have only had the car for 2 months so there are still plenty of things to learn and do to it. Next on the list is pulleys and shifter. BTW anyone know the stock rwhp?

I have to agree with mavrick. Though 291 seems a little low, it is not that far off. I have cams, long tubes etv. And I am at 335 rwhp.
Change to C&L and you numbers will get better.

They shut the pull down at 6800 rpm. look at the bottom of the graph :wink
those numbers seem close to where you should be, the air fuel is around 13 to 1 and that is a ok for naturally aspirated motors for wide open throttle, they usually keep them around 12.8 to 1 though the reason it fell flat on it's face on top end was because he was probably floating the valves, the rotating assembly is good to 7000 rpm, but the valvetrain is good for about 6400 rpm before you start floating the valves, i wouldn't run it past 6100 rpm unless you have cams, besides that you are just wasting your time

291 sounds about right for just an intake, exhaust, and tune, IMO.
In stock form our cars rear wheel at about 255 - 270 hp, depending on the car and the dyno. So you've picked up roughly 30 rwhp from stock, which is a normal gain seen from your modifications. The majority of that gain coming from your CAI & tune. |
