My 07 GT has a mild tapping noise every morning. THe noise only lasts a few minutes and is mostly on acceleration. Any ideas?

Valve tap maybe hopefully not or possibly just shitty gas. What mods you have?

I thought of the gas so I have tried mid grade and even 93 octane once but still hear it. All I have done so far is the Airaid CIA and Magnaflow axlebacks.

No tune required unless you remove the insert.

Could very well be an exhaust leak or you need a tune. Even the companies that say you dont need a tune like Granatellis intake really do require a tuner to perform optimally. I would get some jack stands, get under there carefully and tighten all the exhaust bolts, and also spray some electronics cleaner on your mass air sensor. Then try running 93 for a couple tanks. Since you didnt upgrade to an aftermarket x or h pipe a tapping noise is odd. When I start my car I hear a tapping noise from the engine until it returns to idle. That is the valves opening. What is your idle at once the car warms up and does it do it once its warm?

it only takes a pencil-sized leak in your exhaust to sound like a midget with a hammer is pounding on the driveshaft tunnel...

Are you sure it's not the fuel injectors ticking?

i had a tapping noise from mine since i picked it up when new. the dealer said it was normal in some of the cars. i however have never heard it in another mustang. after changing the exhaust i haven't been able to hear it anymore. no problems so far and it's been about 9 months and 25k on the odometer.
