Help anyone with aftermarket rims!

I just got my aftermarket rims in today they're 18's I have 17's stock now, I went to a tire place to get them mounted and balanced and get the tire pressure sensor swaped over this is the problem, the tire place said they needed new bands and sensors for the 18s, I went to for and they were redicliously over priced, I called the tire place again and they said "O we made a mistake we only need the adhesive to hold the band onto the wheel" so I try and get the adhesive and the sales person said he didnt know what the tire place was talking about there is no adhesive??? So I leave all confused and frustrated as I'm driving home I stop into another tire place and they said they dont need anything they can swap them and make it work, but not today they were booked. Sorry for the long post but how did you guys with aftermarket rims do it, I want the new rims on but I'd still like a functional sensor.

The shop that said you would need new sensors doesn't know what they are talking about...

You will need to buy aftermarket bands for the sensors. These can be anywhere from $25-$60. A shop can sell them to you, but i suggest getting some at your local hardware store. All it is, is a metal band that holds the sensor to the wheel.
