+1 on the black, only way i would get polished is if i had chrome wheels and a load of chrome under the hood, but i don't like chrome so it wasn't even an option

AEM Wideband 02 (Autometer finally has one too), Autometer fuel pressure, boost/vacuum pressure in a Speed of sound a-pillar pod...if I was doing my own tuning, I'd get a pyrometer too...naa...those 3 gauges are the bare essentials, you can do so much troubleshooting with just that info. Getting more boost than you're supposed to? Then you got problems. Less vacuum than 22 inches at idle? You got a vacuum leak. Too rich? Too lean? low fuel pressure? Helps a lot...especailly making sure your fuel pressure and boost climb at the same rate...

Leebunnyz,
I went with SOS pods and Autometer Nexus gauges. They go all red when you encounter a prob. Here is a clip on youtube I found with the HO kit and gauges in action. Here is the whipple at the track He is running 10 PSI, is that your guys set up? |

They are from AutoMeter. The best prices I could find for them was here:
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/aut6400.htm Here is a demo from their website http://www.autometer.com/demos/nexus/ They are a bit pricey, but are outstanding gauges |

I think I might get the tensioners too because I travel home often. It will be about 10 or so days before I can order. With this fix, does it completely solve the problem of throwing a belt? Or does it just lower the risk?

Army,
Thumprrr whom worked this whole thing out was throwing belts nearly every other pass, last I saw he had 20+ passes without belt loss.. Forgot who the aid was that took part in development, but he too has made 15+ passes in his car and hd no belt loss.. This coming from cars that were tossing them more often then not.. Severe frustration was the reason these things even came to exist.. They were actuallt destroying the entire tensioner as well as belt.. |
