Too all the supercharged smarty pants

Whats ups Homies!! "I" Leebunnyz have decided to go supercharged. i want the intercooled whipple kit, spec clutch & flywheel, and the gauges with the pods. i got all the prices down with shipping charges and everything. i want the ford racing to install it and see if i can keep the warranty, if i cant then big daddy performance is going to install it. my question is whats the average price for the installation of a supercharger and clutch? what price should i be expecting the dealership to tell me?

Charger/turbo installs go from 700 to 1100 depending on a couple items like fuel system upgrades ie boost-a-pump vs Actual pump replacement. Intercooler ease of install etc.

I've done several this summer for side work, most recently a Kenne Belle and I been charging 600.00 flat rate.

Most of these shops are hitting the customer for 8-12 hours on the charger installs with a labor rate in 80 to 100 dollar range.

As for clutches, I believe book time is 3.5 or 4 hours again figure in your local labor rate..

^^ Like Emay said ^^ I would be very surprised if the dealership quoted you anything less than 1700 for the clutch and supercharger install. Or you could come on down to S.Indiana and I will do it for 1699.99. :wink

Supachaja install is anywhere from $600-$1,000 if over $1,000 then slap him in da face

Clutch and flywheel "around" $300 to install Don't forget atleast 500 city miles of easy driving before you can lay on the gas

I had my whipple installed by a local performance shop for $950. they said it was very very very easy to install blower kit.

so your looking in the rage of 800-1200 depending on shop's labor rate

You and a friend could do it all in a weekend and pocket that cash...it's really easy to install a blower on these cars if you know how to use a wrench and a soldering iron.

I had a lot of wiring to do on my KB install...windshield washer motor, 90mm MAF, boost-a-pump, etc...and it still took me and my friend less than 18 hours from the time we started breaking it down till it was running strong.

I know for a fact installation of a charger is not getting done for 600.00 in San Diego unless you either know the shop owner or are good friends with someone that knows a shop owner. Your labor rate ain't that cheap out there.

Did it myself very easy install, you can't get the warranty I don't believe unless you got with the 5psi version.

Using lead to secure your wiring conections...it's the best way to make sure you have a good, strong connection and continuity.

whoa, juco are you funning with us or being serious?

If your not kidding here's a description.

For most electrical engineers, soldering is the only way to mend wiring together. Solder itself is an alloy generally made of lead and tin. With a soldering iron, basically a very hot heat source, you heat the two wires to be joined and the solder melts into the strands, when cool you have a permanant connection.

Wussies twist wiring together and electrical tape it. Soldering and shrink wrap should be the only way you wire any electronics into a vehicle.

i would ask to see if they have an updated tensioner yet, kb and whipple are having problems bending the tensioners, kb has one out for $90 which is a good investment, considering you chewing up a belt and stuck somewhere
