Rear suspension mods

I've put the 11psi Whipple on my car and it makes great power but even with 285's on the back traction in the first two gears is a bit sketchy. I read about cars like the new Nissan GTR that is doing 11.7 quarters right out of the box and is a fierce handler as well and I wonder what it takes to get that done. I don't see any inherent benefit to having full independent suspension for getting out of the hole. So what does it take? Can we have a car that gets out of the hole hard without sacrificing handling? It seems there must be tradeoffs or the manufacturers would have given us the right geometry from the get go. Just interested in what you guys think.

your car can either be a strip car or a track car. Or you can leace the suspension like it is... maybe make a few tweaks here and there and you will have a little bit of street and strip car.

To help yourself with traction on the strip. Remove your sway bar, put some nice stickies on it and skinnys on the front to help weight to transfer to the rear

Off topic -

Regency you skiing again? that you in the siggy there? Last I heard you were on a little lay off due to illness.

Just put my boat away last week, we almost made it to november to wakeboard. Waters damn cold, but it's glass 24x7 and very hard to pass that up...

The GTR from my understanding is all wheel drive, at least the older ones are for sure. Some things you cna do like regency said is run drag radials in the rear, or do like me and get slicks for strictly track use. Also if your still running your original suspension components ie your control arms, pnahard rod and brace, wheel hop will be an issue once you slap some sticky rubber on there, so keep those things in mind, one mod will always lead to another and horsepower isnt everything.

a good set of upper and lower control arms, plus a panhard bar and some lower control arm relocation brackets should help at both road course and drag strip
