i very well might be getting enough cash for a kenne bell very soon. being the mechanically inclined one i'll be saving the $1000 +/- and do the work myself. anyone else done this have any advice besides have someone else do it.

the army paid me to learn how to work on vehicles so i do every bit of work that i can myself. i've done everything myself other than the alignment and i did a lifetime on that so i only paid for it once.

Shit, the KB install is no sweat. Me and a buddy had it in in less than 15 hours from teardown to turning the key for the first time...the only part that kinda sucks is getting the TB wires out of the loom and re-taping everything, so unless electrical tape makes you nervous, you'll have no problems. I'd do it again in a heartbeat, it was a lot of fun. Don't forget the beer!

Other than tweaking the tune down a little bit, and making all the blowers bigger, I'm not sure what else they've changed. I got mine in June, and it's the 2.6L, so as far as I know it's the newest kit they have.

I had my local dealership install the Whipple on mine, but I did see the instructions that came with it. Very detailed and it has pictures to help you out. I'm not that mechanically inclined, but it seemed that if you have some experience you should be able to figure it out.
I took a friend of mine up there to the dealership to take a look at it. He is a 63B (lightwheel mechanic) and he said he could have done it.

if you can do it with some friends that would definately save you some $$$ which is awesome, but me personally, I would want it installed and guaranteed by some performance shop I trust. Having everything tuned on the dyno will also be a great idea if you do it yourself.

The KB tune is great, I'm putting down 450 SAE HP (458 uncorrected) with the canned tune. Psycho, you will need this to gap your plugs from stock to .025 to.028 thousanths...this tool is required to do it...I had huge problems with my plugs till I got this tool.

it was about a week after they got my tune sheet and my check cleared. A glorious day, indeed.

yeah, but i like the fact that the KB is just a pulley change away from more boost. i haven't seen the other SC's offer more than one upgrade. i do realize that i would be doing internals first though. if i can get this before i go back to iraq then i'll be using the money i was going to use for forging
