Forced Induction

I would love to buy a twin screw super charger for my car. I just wanted to get a few opinions on the topic. I have a 05 GT with a few bolt on mods but I really want to get into the 400hp range. Now the question is and this is under perfect conditions, supercharger to the tune. How much would you stress would you put on a stock motor with minimal boost from screw charger. The only thing that stops me is the drivability factor and the potential damage so anyone who has expertise in this please fill me in thanks.

A 5 psi twin screw will put you just over 400 at the wheels, drivability will be great, and you won't really even be close to stressing the motor. I have the KB 8 lb intercooled, and it's awesome, it comes with everything you need, including a tune, and you'll still get good gas mileage. I assume you're wanting 400 h.p. at the wheels? That's pretty easy to get over that with a supercharger running low boost, and like I said, you won't need to worry about breaking anything in your engine. KB, Whipple, and Saleen make twin screws. Check out their manufacturer's websites for info on each before you purchase.

you'll be good as long as you stay around 450 to the wheels. if you are just wanting to get to 400hp then you could do full bolt-ons and be close. CAI, tune, udp's, electric water pump, light weight flywheel, driveshaft, cmdp's, heads, cams. you can also change your throttle body, but many people have problems with that. the ones that don't have issues seem to like it. if you aren't looking for more than 400 then this should do. otherwise you can easily do a twin screw without worrying about the bottom end. it's only when you want to go beyond 500hp that you should be thinking about getting forged internals.

Do you mean 500 hp or 500 rwhp? Either way...some unlucky ones have blown a motor in the 450 rwhp range. Some blown it during the dynotune with the stock motor. They may be in the minority, but it happens. The risk is always present...tune is certainly critical but it's not the only variable.

Kenne Bell 8psi. intercooled, FTMFW!!!! either KB or Whipple or the 2 best when it comes to twinscrew blowers, i chose the KB because of being billet and not cast, but they can be hard to get in touch with over the phone and from what i've heard whipple does answer the phone just about everytime, but KB is always busy so that is why they can be hard to get in touch with or take a while to get back to you, not that whipple isn't

which ever one you choose you won't be disappointed ,KB,Whipple,Saleen,<----GOOD!!
Steeda Magnuson & Roush <------ NO!! NO!! JUNK!!!!

Thanks I really appreciate the feedback and if any one has any more please keep it coming.
Now this may be a little nuts but has anyone seen or heard of a car with a supercharger on it and hit 100,000 on the clock. I guess what im saying is id like to get 100,000 out of i my car with one on and is it possible ….. just taking it down to the track here and there and punching it out around town little.

if you run a screw you can easily make 400rwhp and at low boost like that and hp numbers under 450rwhp your motor wont be stressing at all

Congrats on the 11s. Still waiting on the block, another couple of weeks I reckon. Until then, I am babying the car...not going anywhere near NPR...lol

rxdoze, I have the Predator, and so far I am having good luck with it. But, from everything I have read, the SCT unit seems to be the far more popular choice, both among the members here and among professional tuners.

forget the s/c go turbo

Forget the s/c especially K/b. Try calling them, they keep the phone off the hook. Buy a Hellion turbo kit. Call them and they will answer all your questions. Service is everything. Besides your 400hp blown friends will be jealous when you fly by them!!! When the turbo spins the b.s. ends!!!

yeah i saw that turbo kit. how much power does it give you i dont want to go crazy only bc this is my daily driver. how much is the kit and does it come complete.

The reason i think the sct is more popular is bc it has a lot of other functions and has that digital display. does the diablo come with any good tunes that are preset and where do you the other tunes from.

Im curious about those centrifugal blowers are they any good or just go with a screw drive charger bc those centrifugal are like 3500 for a kit.

The centri blowers pull harder up top. A twin screw will make power off the line. It depends on what you want. et me get you a link.

NP man. If I were to build a high HP motor I would definetly run TT, but since I can't ever see upgrading the internals on my car I want a Whipple.
