Review Of My Add Ons
Well, I picked up my car today and tested it out a bit after all the mods. I have to say I am impressed with the power, but man is this thing friggin' loud! Every time I hit the gas a little bit I feel like I am running the Indy 500. Overall though, I think that I am very happy with it.
I will go down piece by piece and tell ya what I think. Whipple HO S/C (8.5 psi at the moment) - I at first couldn't really feel the power difference until I got on it a little bit. I kept trying to hear the sound, but because my car is so loud I couldn't even hear it. I pulled up to a nice minivan with a old lady driving at a stoplight. Revved my engine a bit to signal her to put her gameface on and gunned it. It took a second for my wheels to catch, but holy shit, the power when it did! Old lady instantly pissed herself and I was gone. ![]() 3.73 gears- I have to say that this is a awesome feeling gear ratio. I felt more in control and was getting a hell of alot better launch. It seemed I had a faster shift time from 1st through 3rd. Because I was running 3.55's before, I have to drive a bit more to get the timing down. But I likes. Alum. Driveshaft - Smooth driving. The only time I felt a rattle was in 4th and 5th gear. I could definitely tell my car was lighter just by the feel. And watching the front end rise up in the air when I got on it a bit was equally exciting. Definitely recommend. Tri-Ax Shifter - Different feel to the shifter that I will have to get used to. Really stiff because it is new and when I was driving for the first 20 minutes I hit 4th gear instead of 2nd a few times. Seems to set more to the left and is a bit taller than my stock shifter I had on before, but this thing can take alot of abuse shifting. Not disappointed, but wanting to get it broken in and used to it. U/L control arms- Had a better feeling of control in my 2nd through 5th gears. 1st gear is kind of up in the air because I still have to get used to the power and launch timing. I think I will put more work into the suspension to compliment the for better traction control. Any suggestions? SLP LM's- Put these things on myself before I took my car to the shop. Loud and didn't think shit could get louder. Man was I wrong! Mac O/R Prochamber - Friggin' beast when paired with the LM's. Almost too damn loud. I had people looking at me everytime I barely hit the gas pedal. A very intimidating sound. My boost pressure is lower though. Only disappointment is that I can't actually hear the blower working. Gauges - Flat out awesome. I think my next steps will be to get the suspension for my next add-on's to get a better launch. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Possibly track tires after that. Anyways, thanks for all the good advice and help in getting my car hooked up. Definitely love it, but feel I need to get used to some of the changes. I'm gonna try to get some vids up for you guys in the next week or so after I dyno the car.

I'm getting my car back tomorrow, after installing the Saleen 475 hp supercharger upgrade kit, which takes the boost to 8 psi, J&M LCA's and 3.73 gears, and I hope I feel the kind of difference that you are talking about!

Sounds like the only thing you need is some LT headers, and some sticky tires.

Congrats billg! Be sure and do a write up on yours and tell us what ya think.
usafimj, you'll get there. I was thinking about LT headers, but I would take off the LM's if I went that route. It's already wake the dead loud as it is. ![]() I took it out on the highway tonight and rolled up next to a older Camaro and older Stang later. After they both saw me downshift beside them and take off for a second and then slow down, they wouldn't even race me. Or maybe they did but I was just on it so much it didn't seem like they were. Who knows, lol. I had my friend scared as hell in the passenger seat. One thing I did notice after running it hard for a bit is my clutch burning. I'm kinda having a tough time with the new shifter, seems to slip sometimes. Hopefully it just needs to be broken in and that will ease off my clutch a bit.

Looks good, but do you think it would be a good idea to put on a daily driver? The site says it is for drag applications only.

well if that wouldn't work for ya you could also go for some QA1's. did you think about lowering it. not really for the straight line, but the look is what will do it for you. you also could go up front and do a k-member

Congrats! The whipples really seem to be quite for a top mount blower. My friend has one on his Cobra, and I was surprised at how quite it is at wide open throttle. I was expecting some loud Kenne Bell scream!
What numbers did the car make on the low boost numbers? Any plans to up the boost a little?

I am going to the dyno next Thursday. I hope to boost it to 10 psi, but I will have to see the numbers first. I want to stay around 475 rwhp because of my stock bottom end and with the Prochamber on there I might have to settle for less.
