Service Engine Light

I had my service engine light come on and I disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes and it did not come back on. I was just wondering does ford have this light come on at a certain mileage like my Vette does when it is due for it's service maintence or did it maybe just threw a code? I currently have 21,200 miles on my 06. Thanks!!!!

It probably threw a code but since you erased it and didn't come back on I don't think there's a way to find out what it was. Guess you'll just have to wait and see

that doesn't always erase it. you could go to your local parts store. autozone, orielly, or the like. they can hook up to your car and read the codes. it's free and they do everything and will tell you the code if any and what it is for

No Ford does not have the light come on at a certain mileage. When the CEL comes on it has detected a fault somewhere within the system, could be many different things and the only way to know is to at the least get the code pulled and then post it here. I may be able to give you some ideas of what to look for.

Well since it is under warranty can't I just make appontment at a Stealership and have it done? I'm sure it will be covered. I am sure if a code has been thrown it will happen again in the near future. Thanks 06GT4RAD for your offer and everyone else for your help!

Yep if it's under warranty wait for the light to come back on and take it in.

By the way how's Baltimore I have family out that way. It's a Beautiful City.

I think that is what I plan on doing, the light still has not come on but who knows? I will be getting my C&L and tuner by next week so I can always check it then for peace of mind. As for Baltimore it is great if you live in the County or are in the tourist areas other then that it is the murder capital of this country. I think we are ranked second in the USA and moving up fast. We have at least 1 murder a day this year so far. Kind of takes it's Beauty away but I am born and raised here.

Yeah I have been to some of those other areas and oh man it can be scary. We rode the buses one year to go somewhere and were driving through the middle of the ghetto and I was like do you guys realize where we are. Some of my family was completely clueless and My mother was the worst "Oh it's ok"
