Jlt Cai

So I'm thinking of ordering the JLT CAI from Doug at bama as a xmas gift to my car. Since I live in Oklahoma we can only get 91 octane at the gas stations from what I've seen. I know it comes with 3 tunes. I will be getting the 1.) 87 Performance for every day driving, 2.) 91 Torque, 3.) 91 Performance.

I'm looking on the site and at the bottom is says-----Required: Premium Fuel Octane. This is right before you choose your 3 octane tunes. What does that mean? Would it be worth getting a 93 Race but not sure if I can get any 93 octane? I know he's a one man operation but how long does it usually take to receive it in the mail?

Thanks

sup, i live in okc also. I dont think we have 93 octane anywhere here. I heard that the torque tune is better for mpg because it adds power to the lower band of the rpm thus helping the car move easier from a dead stop. I cant find much use for the performance tune unless you have a standard ( i have an auto) since performance is for the higher part of the rpm such as 3k and up

I never use the performance tune. I use the torq for everyday driving and the race for when i want to have fun.

So looks like I'm gonna get the 87 performance for everyday driving, 91 torque on the way to the track/ mess around, 91 Race while I'm at the track. Does this sound like a better combo for the 3 tunes

-How long does it take to get it in the mail?
-I'm looking on the site and at the bottom is says--Required: Premium Fuel Octane. This is right before you choose your 3 octane tunes. What does that mean?

if i had to do it all over again i wouldve picked perf, torq, and race with all the same octane. because i cant use a certain tunes until i empty the tank. so if i were u i would make them all 91 unless he doesnt have them all in 91 octane.

Now do you gotta have your tank completely empty to change tunes. When you do fill up with a different octane can I drive it a few miles home then hook up the tuner and load that specific octane without messing something up

no u dont have to completely empty it. see i have 89 perf, 89 torq and 93 race. now i just always fill it with 93 no matter wat tune i have. but i couldnt put 89 octane in and put the race tune in because THATS what would fuck up the car.

I have Doug's 93 octane Torq, Perf, Race tunes, I run the race tune as my daily driver because it seems to be the best all around tune and I still average around 18 mpg.

I have 93 here in texas and when traveling i sometimes have to put 91 in it. i've never had an issue with the lower octane using the 93 performance tune. i also have the 87 perf. but i have never used it. i wouldn't even bother if i were you. get all 91 octane tunes.
