Damn Earth...

So it's starting to snow. Like a douche I didn't get my car Ziebarted in time for the shit weather and I procrastinated and didn't wax with Ice. I've never given much thought to the weather, as my last ride was an Xterra - but now, man am I a baby about my new mustang! I hate getting bird shit on my paint, running through dirty puddles, and I can't imagine what salt will do to her underbody...

What do you guys do after bad weather, or salt? Just wash and wax and call it a day? And is it too late to get the Ziebart protection??

You can ziebart when ever you want. It's preferred to be done before the car sees inclement weather. However, properly cleaned at winters end and then ziebarted nets the same result. Just an added step.. 90% of the people buying cars don't do that protection so don't sweat it.

I would wash her soon as you get a chance and get a coat of wax on the car.

For the underbody wait till spring, see if you can borrow a lift and power wash the underbody if your worried.

You can now use Google Earth to reverse the rotation of the Earth, turn back time and do the things you should have done.

I go to the car wash every week during winter and spray the car down and underneath as well. I didn't get undercoating...not worth the mess and hassle.

Yeah man, that's been my ritual too. I'm pretty sure there's an underbody wash where I go, also. So it's no biggie; I know I'm being a big baby

I just finally know what it's like to have something nice, ya know? I've never even detailed my motorcycles in the past like I am with this car... I've found myself vacuuming the thing like a junkie haha

Move down south. The only issue is you rack up a ton of miles on your car.. 15000 in 9 months for me.

My dream city is Chicago - but why the hell would I move there? Weather's worse than Baltimore...
For some reason I can't stop thinking about living in Texas. Great weather and cheap real estate - and it doesn't hurt that my girlfriend would contemplate the idea.
Driving home in the snow last night was not bad AT ALL. I know the mustang could be tame when you controlled yourself... Now the salt is all over my car and I'm a bit pissed, but that's life.

Oh come on now, y'all know you're jealous because you don't get seasons.

Besides, what is Christmas like without snow and 10 degree weather?

No, the worst part about Chicago is February. All five months of it. And yeah, I was really impressed with how the Mustang GT handled the bad stuff when I test drove it for a day. During snow. And sleet. And rain. All at once. It was much, much, much better than my puny lil' Scion. Sigh.

I have had a Montero in Minnesota for 6 years and have no rust underneath. No special coatings. I just made sure to take it to an underbody carwash weekly and keep the salt off of it.

All the same, My Mustangs stay in the stable until the roads dry out!
