Tire Rot
I was looking at my tires when i noticed that they had small little cracks in them on the sidewall and in the treads. Its not a serious case but you can notice it when you look at the tire. They are the stock tires that came with the car but its only an 05 and has 21,400 miles on the car. I just wanted to hear some opinions on asking the dealer to replace the tires for me bc i still have the bumper to bumper warranty on the car and i figure the tires have to be covered for 35,000. let me know what you think

tires are a wearable part, no replacing buddy.
that could just be stress. my first set were stressed from so much cornering and high speed that the tread wanted to peel, but then again, they were all season tires. my nittos are perfect tho.

Tires are typically not covered under warranty but the dealer will make exceptions depending on the issue. Normal wear is not covered. If say, you had a broken belt in a tire, they would then MAYBE give you warranty, and even then you would only get a percentage of the tire based on wear. I know this to be true because I've had this happen to me with my last Ford.
It will also depend on your dealer & service manager. I would say that cracks in your sidewall would be considered normal wear by the dealer, particularly if your car sits outside in the sun for long periods of time. All you can do is go by the dealer and ask, but I would doubt if they cover them. If you get lucky and they do, it will be based on a percentage of wear on your tire(s). |

I had 18000 miles on my tires when they gave me partial warranty on 3 tires for broken belts in them.

This was my point to him in my initial post. That the service manager will determine the decision on it. Most would call that normal wear, but it depends on how bad it is. Tires with only 21000 miles on them should be worn, but they should not have cracks in the sidewall.

I managed to get almost 25k on mine, although the fronts are now just about done, as I actually do more corner carving than I do launching.

I find my 235's pushing big time when I corner i little aggresive....Now that Zip enlightened me on my 18 x 8.5!! rims ive been looking for tires for all four corners AGAIN!

before, with the factory height tires, my handlign wasnt that great.
but after putting the 275 40s on front and 315 35s on the back, it lowered the car what seems like an inch, and drastically helped the handling. before, I could go over speed bumps with no problems. Now, I felt the tranny hit one, so i have to go around. these nittos grab more with gas into the corners, than just coasting around.
